SAPM on Industries and Production, H.E. Mr. Haroon Akhtar Khan held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Anton Alikhanov today on the sidelines of INNOPROM, Annual Industrial Forum in Yekaterinburg. 

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed technical modalities of refurbishing the Steel Mills to enable Pakistan to develop a state of the art metallurgical facility. The two sides also discussed on increasing industrial cooperation and trade promotion. 

Pakistan’s delegation apprised the Russian side of the numerous initiatives being undertaken in the industrial sector, including New Industrial Policy of the Government that provides an investment friendly environment. The SAPM also invited interests of the Russian companies to explore opportunities for joint ventures in locomotives, electric buses, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals and agricultural machinery.
